436 Georgia St – Post Quake Demolition – Evolving Update

8/25/14 — Here  is the scene in front of 436 Georgia St. this morning as workers made preparations for plans to remove the top two stories of the building damaged in the earthquake. Old tires and then plywood were laid on top of  the apartment building next door (428 Georgia) in order to protect the roof from falling debris. Internal damage and a weakened parapet wall have made the removal of two of the four stories at 436 Georgia the most apparently feasible plan to save the building. Updates to follow.

Also includes interview with building owner Buck Kamphausen

Here are some additional pictures of the earthquake damage in downtown by Angelo P.

Vow…. so many of us felt it early Sunday morning … many reporting property damage and many things being tossed around and down in their homes.

GLAD to learn of no loss of lives and major injury/harm to people and animals.

We hope buildings damaged will be given all the help needed to insure safety of people.
    Lets pray for everyones safety.
