Vallejo Police Support Rally — Photo Highlights And Flier — UPDATED STATEMENT 12/30

In case you missed it, here are some photos (By Angelo) of yesterday’s rally in support of police held in front of the Vallejo Police Station on Amador St.

Created with flickr slideshow.

There were around 60 in attendance in support of the VPD as well as members of Mario Romero’s family who held signs of protest and others who have issues around alleged police conduct. No sworn officers were seen participating in the event. There was also a flier passed out referring to Mario Romero, Michael Brown and Eric Garner stating, “THEY COME COLOR CODED FOR A REASON! THINK ABOUT IT” and referring to the three men who died in incidents with police as “THUGS”. Whether the flier represents the position of event organizer Sam Kurshan, or if it is from some other source present at the event is unknown. VIB would welcome any statement from the event organizers should they wish to comment.

12/30 — UPDATE: The following statement (link) from event organizer Sam Kurshan was published in the Times Herald: http://www.timesheraldonline.com/opinion/20141229/sam-kurshan-race-card-has-no-place-here

In this day of social media why would anyone even bother to spend time to make a flyer much less one that it is racially charged. What a contemptible little worm you must be to post this as the cover photo of this event. An event where Vallejo resident of all races gathered peacefully together to exert their first amendment rights. This is one of the few lead the pack positive activities I have ever seen in the city of Vallejo .

It’s all so very interesting, and so very obviously contrived. I see that the organizers of the rally deny any involvement with the racist flier. Yet, both the flier and the printed matter at the rally use the same hashtags, #bluelivesmatter and #policelivesmatter (as if anyone suggested they don’t). The flier goes even further to use #whitelivesmatter. It’s obvious they were created by the same people. Another example of more division being created in Vallejo by the use of false equivalencies, once again drumming up manufactured conflicts, and a case of ignorance and racism running rampant. I find it all so very sad and so very disgusting.

The organizers can rest soundly knowing they have once again served to use an issue to drum up more hatred and division.

Looks like almost every person holding a sign supporting police in those pictures is white. The rest look fairly evenly mixed.

So what anon make of the apparent fact that most if not all those holding up signs are white. Can not white people hold up signs of protest? Especially in light of the video of a group of black people in New York engaged in a call-response chant while parading down a street:

      What do we want?

      Dead cops!

      When do we want it?

      Now
      —————
Nice people with a balanced point of view. Well no, just vicious punk thugs.

They all should have been arrested. Al Sharpton should have been arrested for incitement of violence (well, THAT should have happened years ago). It would be interesting to have some media post the statistics of the number of police killed in this country in the past couple of months–and stack that up against the deaths of the thug in Missouri and the sick man with the long rap sheet in New York City, both of whom resisted arrest.

And let’s not forget the California Highway Patrolman who was attacked by a violent wack-job named Estrada with a machete up in Humboldt County a week ago or so. A MACHETE!, wounding the officer in the face and arm.

Rocket-man there was plenty of followup on the Faux news coverage in New York where it was uncovered that the channel changed what the protesters were saying and it was proven to be a lie. They never said they wanted “dead cops”. I find that balanced news accounts keep me from jumping on a faux bandwagon.

A small bunch of fat white people standing with Kurshan. The same ones who voted for Sarah Palin, no doubt.

You people are beyond pathetic. Mr Kurshan’s rally was a success. You tried to derail it prior to it occurring and failed, while it occurred and failed and now, after it occurred and failed. One big epic fail for the Kurshan haters. One big success for Mr. Kurshan.

If this flyer was created by pro police rally organizers then they should be nominated for the Darwin award for political strategy. It’s so unbelievably stupid I find it far more likely it was circulated by Cindi Mitchell and her brain trust. Just like the goof ball progressives that infiltrated the early Tea Party rallies and held up signs depicting President Obama as a monkey, this could also be a false flag stunt.

To set the record straight, the endangered species of humans don’t come color coded they are culture coded. A culture that refuses to be educated, refuses to work, refuses to follow the commands of peace officers won’t make it into the future. White, Black, Brown, the stupid will be eliminated from the gene pool.

Only one person comes to mind that could be this stupid and he takes credit for organizing this poor excuse of a rally.

KKK Threatens ‘Lethal Force’ Against Ferguson Protesters And Appears on TV To Explain Why
    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/11/14/kkk-threatens-lethal-force-protesters-ferguson_n_6155570.html

Members of a Missouri-based Ku Klux Klan chapter sent a chilling message in Ferguson claiming they will use “lethal force” to defend themselves from “terrorists masquerading as ‘peaceful protesters.’”

The Traditionalist American Knights of the KKK distributed fliers saying protesters have “awakened a sleeping giant,” and that demonstrators have threatened the lives of law enforcement, the community and their families.

“You have been warned by the Ku Klux Klan!” the flier reads. “There will be consequences for your actions against the peaceful, law abiding citizens of Missouri.”

Distributing fliers is no new method for the KKK, who have repeatedly dispersed threatening notices in communities around the nation from Florida to Chicago.

On Wednesday, MSNBC host Chris Hayes invited Frank Ancona, the leader of the KKK chapter in Missouri, to discuss reasons for spreading the fliers around Ferguson.

Hayes also questioned Ancona on the irony of the group’s mission in claiming to fight violence with more violence, saying it seems as though they are “attempting to bring about the exact same thing” they are against.

“No, actually it’s addressing the people who are making these terroristic threats and letting them know that the people of Missouri have rights too,” Ancona said.

He went on to refute accusations of incitement by explaining: “There are remedies under the law. The flier, if you read it, it says ‘defend’, it talks about defense. So, in order to defend yourself, that means you’re being attacked.”

Ancona also said he firmly believes that the fliers are making the situation better in St. Louis.

Following Ancona’s appearance on All In, Hayes reportedly received criticism from viewers who spoke out against the host for allowing Ancona a platform to share his controversial views.

The constant and critical responses of the segment prompted Hayes to address viewer concerns in a separate video following the close of the show.

“I still think it was the right call, in fact I may even feel that *more* strongly than I did last night. That said, I 100% understand why some people don’t see it that way. We debated and wrestled with whether or not to do it and weighed the pros and cons and ultimately decided there was real news/journalistic value in putting him on,” Hayes said.

“We wouldn’t have booked him to give us “his take” or “weigh in” on what’s going in Ferguson or some other story. We interviewed him because he was actually the person distributing those fliers.”

Ferguson protesters spent the weekend after Christmas chanting “Deck The Halls With Rows of Dead Cops” just one week after the execution-style murders of New York City police officers Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu.

    Thanks MG,
I am a law and order person as most would know in my last 11 years old posting, but with this video there is proof that the Village Idiot and others are overt racists. The fact that Hazel Wilson attended as an accomplice to this group would warrant an official response from the school district, her camp. and if the Mayor had any guts he might speak out denouncing this rally and letter you uncovered.

There are many forms of ‘overt’ racisim but they all bear the same ‘HATE’ , having had the priveldge to grow up , color/cultural blind
without the ‘Hate’ I can see that there is hope . Food for thought , next time you go out for Chinese Food , keep this in mind … They were once the most discriminated Race in California .
The common denominator in the whole Race BULLSHIT in our State , is in fact fairly — inclusive , because over time almost all our Heritages have been pidgeon holled , and been discrimated against … The Myth that color and heritage is the determinator is just that .. California has always been a melting pot .. Race is a great diversion for Class which has always driven the , helm of this State ..

Very interesting situation. I would say that the onus now is on the Vallejo PD to speak out and separate themselves from this rally group and the flyer. If the Vallejo PD does not do that, they will be seen as accomplices and supporters of the notion that race matters in Vallejo…that certain people deserve police protection, while others do not deserve such a privilege. If the new Police Chief doesn’t come out and emphatically state his position on this rally, then all credibility for public safety in Vallejo is lost.

        Agreed Anonymous,
As much as I dislike the other side they do have a valid point….why on Gods’ earth did we not give them the autopsy report or release the body in a humane manner? As much as many may hate Ms. Mitchell she is a customer and deserves reasonable responses. Who has been in charge and allowed all this poor customer services?
